The holiday season can be quite a stressful time, between trying to find the perfect gift for your family members, forced family gatherings, and parties, so it’s important to take some time out and pamper yourself. Whether it’s 20 minutes of meditation, listening to your favorite song, or getting a massage, taking some time out will help you to navigate those challenging moments when your patience is tested. Three ways you can de-stress this holiday season is by listening to music, drinking tea, and massaging your body with butters infused with essential oils.
Get Your Groove On
During the holiday season, I try to avoid listening to holiday music until Christmas week. Currently, I have been listening to the Alabama Shakes on repeat. I love their futuristic, eclectic, soulful, Nina Simone sound. Their song Sound & Color is featured in Apple’s latest commercial.
Sipping on That Tea
Drinking a nice cup of tea like peppermint or chai tea can help you to decompress and unwind from a stressful day.
Breathe Deeply
Massaging your body with butters and oils infused with essential oils can help you to relieve stress. You can create your own massage oil using peppermint and eucalyptus with some jojoba and avocado oil. Also taking a deep breathe in an out as you apply your oil mixture will definitely help you to alleviate some stress, as some essential oils are known for their stress reducing abilities.
